Milling and Implanting process for multi-core telecommunication cards

The more professional term for multi-core telecommunication cards is: modular multi-core prefabricated telecommunication cards. It is a prefabricated form of telecommunications card designed to adapt to mass production and reduce costs. Essentially, it is a prefabricated component integrating multiple single-core cards with the same function on a single large card base, which can be disassembled for subsequent use.

The core structural design is as follows: The overall structure is a large-sized standard card base. Commonly, 2 or 4 single-core card units are arranged in a 2×1 or 2×2 rule. There are clear indentations or easy-tear lines between the units, and some also reserve positioning holes for convenient grasping and processing by automated equipment. Each unit is equipped with an independent basic communication chip. The functions of the chips are exactly the same, with only the serial numbers and other identifiers being different. Moreover, the units do not interfere with each other. After disassembly, they are all complete and usable single-core cards. The material is mostly ordinary PVC, which not only reduces costs but also ADAPTS to the large-scale cutting process.

The production advantages of multi-core telecommunication cards are very obvious. It can complete the centralized packaging of multiple chips at one time, reduce the frequency of equipment debugging and workstation switching, significantly increase the production capacity of a single batch, and also spread out the cost of equipment depreciation, labor and other per-card costs. Moreover, the large card base is compatible with the conveyor track and milling equipment parameters of the automated production line, enabling batch processing of milling, dispensing, inspection and other procedures. This avoids the frequent line changes when single-core cards are produced separately, and the equipment utilization rate can be significantly improved.

The use and disassembly of multi-core telecommunication cards are also very simple. After downstream manufacturers or operators obtain the large card base, they can cut it in batches through die-cutting machines or manually separate it along the easy-tear line.

The Milling and Implanting equipment for multi-core telecommunication cards is more complex than that for single-core smart cards (such as bank cards and membership cards). The core differences lie in the configuration of molds and solder heads, the activation of workstations, and the operating parameters of the equipment.

1. Milling unit

The 1 core card can be simultaneously milled into slots with two pieces. The equipment can simultaneously process a single slot by conveying two cards at a time.

The 2-core card is a single-chip synchronous milling double-slot, and the milling cutter spacing of the equipment matches the slot spacing of the two chips.

 For 4-core cards, a single piece needs to be cross-milled with four slots;

The milling cutter path of the equipment needs to be preset with a cross program to avoid mutual interference during processing.

2. Chip mounting unit

The 1-core card only requires a single dispensing head and a single set of mounting suction cups. The dispensing and mounting stations can be completed with a single action.

The 2-core card is equipped with dual dot dispensing heads. The mounting components are two sets of synchronous suction cups, which can complete the dispensing and mounting of two slots at one time.

4-core cards often use two sets of two-point glue heads for step-by-step operation. The mounting components pick up the chips in two steps, corresponding to completing the mounting of four slots. Some equipment can also be equipped with four-point glue heads to achieve synchronous operation.

3. Hot Welding and Inspection Unit:

The 1-core card activates a single set of hot welding heads and a single detection channel. Both hot welding and detection are completed in one go.

The 2-core card enables the synchronous operation of two sets of hot welding heads. The detection channels are dual-parallel, and the conductivity of two chips is detected simultaneously.

The 4-core card requires the activation of multiple sets of hot soldering heads (such as 4 sets or using two sets in two). During detection, the functional detection of the four chips is completed step by step or synchronously through the multi-channel detection module to avoid missed detections. Moreover, the detection program needs to be adapted to the signal differentiation of multiple chips to prevent signal interference.

4. Equipment operating parameters:

 When producing 1-core cards, the equipment has a fast conveying speed. Two pieces can be conveyed in parallel at one time, and the production capacity is relatively high.

The conveying speed of the 2-core card is close to that of the 1-core card, but the processing time of the single card is slightly increased due to the double-slot operation;

4-core card conveying is mostly single-chip operation, and steps such as milling grooves, dispensing, and inspection all need to be carried out step by step. The operation rhythm of the equipment slows down, and at the same time, the pressure and temperature parameters of the equipment also need to be fine-tuned for the multi-chip layout to avoid local overheating affecting the surrounding chips.
